FAQs

  • What is Christian counseling?

Christian counseling integrates licensed, professional therapy techniques with biblical truth and faith-based guidance. At GTCH, we invite God into the healing process to address emotional, spiritual, and relational challenges.

  • Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?

Yes. We offer confidential counseling both in our Corpus Christi office and virtually, so you can choose what works best for your schedule.

  • Who do you work with?

We provide counseling for teens, men, parents, and individuals seeking faith-based support. We address a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, relationship struggles, identity issues, and more.

  • Do you prescribe medications?

We don't prescribe medications, instead we focus on traditonal counseling and bible based approaches.

  • How long is a counseling session?

Most sessions last about one hour, but we can adjust to meet your needs. Longer sessions can be arranged for more intensive work.

  • How much does counseling cost?

Fees vary depending on session type and length. We strive to make counseling affordable, and many clients use insurance to cover part or all of the cost.

  • Do you take insurance?

Yes. We accept the following insurance providers:

    • Driscoll Children’s Health Plan
    • Superior Health Plan
    • UnitedHealthcare
    • Texas Children’s Health Plan
    • Blue Cross Blue Shield
    • Amerigroup

You can check your coverage and benefits easily by signing up with Headway—it’s free to use and will confirm whether your sessions are covered.

  • What if I don’t have insurance?

We offer self-pay options for those without insurance.

  • What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first session will be a time to share your story, discuss your goals, and get to know your counselor. We’ll talk about your challenges, explain our approach, and outline a plan for moving forward.

  • Is everything I share confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is important. Everything you share is kept strictly confidential, except in rare situations where disclosure is required by law for safety reasons.
